Welcome to Thorfinn Custom Sporrans (TCS), where your participation assures that you get the sporran you want at a very competitive price.  TCS is the originator of the "Snap-flap Convertible" sporran.

SPORRAN (spaw-run) - Scots Gaelic for pouch.  Also known as the kiltie's pockets.

Your sporran maker is Turpin Ballard (me). I fell in love with fine leathers while trying to save money on a sporran by making my own - a very Scottish thing to do. I wear my kilts pretty much full time and needed a useful and functional sporran because, of course, kilts (at least traditional ones) have no pockets. The usual run of sporrans you find, even the fancy and expensive ones, really leave a lot to be desired in the practicality department.  Especially if you have big hands.

But a functional sporran can be a thing of beauty as well. I focus my business on the Rob Roy style of sporran, although I've been known to do a full-mask badger or skunk here and there. My sporrans are crafted from deer, elk, and buffalo leather, with an occasional trip into cowhide if the leather has the right "feel" to it.  Each sporran is cut, punched, sewn, and finished completely by hand in my "LaSporratory", and contains approximately 1400 hand stitches.  Specific color options - and there are several - are fully explored with the customer to ensure that the end result is as much their vision as mine.

At this time I have chosen not to configure my website to take orders, because of the need for personal communication to ensure a satisfied customer.  Each sporran is an individual entity.  HOWEVER.
